Modern humans emerge from contrivance. The Homo sapiens species is a product of the inventions developed by those who preceded it in the evolutionary branch of which it is the latest exponent: we are an artificial species and we depend on an artificial diet. However, just now, as a significant portion of the human population is clustering in immense urban concentrations, the myth of the natural has resurged with extraordinary vigor.
The term "natural" is considered the expression of supreme goodness and is juxtaposed with the artificial, synonymous with harmful and detrimental.
